Pope’s visit to Quebec : The Great Healing Walk of Puamun Meshkenu
Our president, Éric Cardinal, also holds the position of vice-president of the organization Puamun Meshkenu, founded by Dr. Stanley Vollant.
As part of the Pope’s visit to Quebec, Puamun Meshkenu enabled the achievement of the Great Healing Walk, bringing together a total of hundreds of walkers who covered on foot, in 6 days, the distance between Mashteuiatsh and the Plains of Abraham, in Quebec. The vice-president of Puamun Meshkenu was part of this procession bringing together Indigenous People of all generations and communities as well as non-Native allies. They were welcomed on arrival by survivors and their families, in a spirit of collective and individual healing.
