Racism and Anti-racism : Indigenous Issues
On March 17 2022, the president of Seize03, Éric Cardinal, had the privilege of hosting two round tables as part of a virtual symposium on the theme RACISMS AND ANTI-RACISM: ABORIGINAL ISSUES. The symposium was presented by the Institut de recherche sur l’intégration professionnelle des immigrants (IRIP) at Collège de Maisonneuve.
1st Table : High Impact Practices to Combat Racism in the Workplace
- Mrs Nadine Vollant, director of multidisciplinary services, quality, evaluation, performance and ethics at the Centre intégré de santé et de services sociaux de la Côte-Nord
- Mr Marco Bacon, director of the Bureau de l’inclusion et de la réussite étudiante (BIRÉ) at UQAM | Université du Québec à Montréal
- Dr Émilie Deschênes, professor in education and management of education in indigenous contexts at UQAT | Université du Québec en Abitibi-Témiscamingue
2nd Table : Art as a Tool Against Racism
- Mrs Veronique Rankin, director of Wapikoni Mobile, member of Abitibiwinni Nation of Pikogan Community
- Mr Dave Jenniss, artistic director of Productions Ondinok
- Mrs Emanuelle Dufour, educational advisor in equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI), Student Affairs Department at Collège Ahuntsic and autor of the comic book ”C’est le Québec qui est né dans mon pays”
